Horizon Managing Partner Jumps to OMD
Oliver Maletz Named Managing Director, OMD East
NEW YORK, April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Media Group agency OMD has landed Horizon EVP and Managing Partner Oliver Maletz for the position of Managing Director for OMD East. In his new role, Maletz will be responsible for assuring growth, profitability and service excellence for OMD East clients.
Maletz joins OMD following five years at Horizon, during which he created and led the curious@horizon insights group, a collaborative resource for strategic communications thinking that also provided a marketplace point of view on the brand, consumer, and media trends that affect communications delivery and engagement.
Prior to Horizon, Maletz—an industry veteran with more than 20 years' experience working with leading US and global brands—spent nine years at Universal McCann in Germany, Middle East, Austria and the US. There he led communications planning for clients such as: Coca-Cola, Gillette, Sony, Verizon Wireless and Johnson & Johnson. His initial strategic grounding was in the full-service world at Young & Rubicam New York.
"Oliver's expertise is in building collaborations—across disciplines and across the agency/client relationship—to deliver the learnings that lead to innovation, integration and consumer connection," said OMD US CEO Alan Cohen. "That skill, combined with the depth and breadth of his brand experience, is ideally suited to OMD, where insights, analytics and creativity power compelling solutions for our clients, and elevate the role of media in the marketing hierarchy."
Maletz
Depth and breadth are the operative words from Maletz's perspective as well, as they pertain to the intelligence and ideation resources that will be available to him in his new role, and the inherent opportunities of working with OMD East's roster of top global and national brands. "The most dynamic media/marketing ideas come from the integration of business insights, consumer insights, traditional, new and emerging channel insights, and creative media solutions," said Maletz. "OMD has the informational assets, the professional talent, the corporate vision and the forward-thinking clients that are the prerequisites to consistently delivering against this goal."
Maletz will report to OMD East President Kathleen Brookbanks.
