BALTIMORE, July 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The first day camp of its kind in Maryland, Horizon Day Camp is currently in its 2nd year on the 88-acre Maryvale School, boasting beautiful grounds and indoor spaces that meet the needs of children with cancer.
Often isolated from the normal activities of childhood, children with cancer rarely have a chance to see beyond the closed worlds of home, hospital and doctors' offices. Horizon Day Camp changes that by opening the doors to a new world, making it possible for children to enjoy a summer filled with exciting daily activities, friendships and laughter, while paying careful attention to their medical and emotional needs. And because it is a day camp, children are able to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night. Recognizing the extraordinary financial demands that a child's chronic illness can have on a family, Horizon Day Camp and Year-Round Programs are always offered free of charge.
