Honoring America's Heroes, Remembering 9/11 at the Bush Library and Museum
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In honor of Patriot Day and America's heroes, military service members and first responders will receive free admission Sept. 11, 2014 to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University.
Free museum admission will be extended to all active-duty and retired military service members (including Reserve and National Guard), and fire, police and EMS workers in uniform or with a valid ID.
Active-duty military service members and up to five of their immediate family members (spouse and children) receive free admission year round. For more information go to bushlibrary.tamu.edu/military.
In addition to the core exhibits, visitors to the museum will see "Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery" on display now in the Ansary Gallery of American History. With Shell as title sponsor and supporting sponsorships from Ensco, Schlumberger and Move Resource Group, the exhibit covers all aspects of the search for oil offshore, with a special look at the geology of finding oil, focusing on exploration of the Gulf of Mexico. Industry pioneers recount their personal experiences. Visitors will be taken from start to finish — developing the "play" to platform production — via an interactive display.
The mission of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is to preserve and make available the records and artifacts of George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States. We promote civic literacy and increased historical understanding of our national experience, and foster a community of public service and volunteerism. Located on the campus of Texas A&M University – a premier public Tier 1 research university home to more than 50,000 students – the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is part of the National Archives and Records Administration's Presidential Libraries system.
