"Honor Society" Brings Salvation Army Rock the Red Kettle Tour to Pittsburgh -- Band Slates Fan Meet and Greet
CARNEGIE, Pa., Nov. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In support of The Salvation Army's first-ever Rock the Red Kettle Tour and following the release of their hot new album "A Tale of Risky Business Part 2," Honor Society will bring their acclaimed music to Diesel in Pittsburgh's Southside on Saturday, December 10. During the band's stop in Pittsburgh, Honor Society will ask fans to support The Salvation Army during the Christmas season by donating a new toy to a needy child.
Honor Society has graciously agreed to volunteer prior to their concert from approximately 2:30 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th at The Salvation Army's Pittsburgh Temple Worship and Service Center, located at 1060 McNeilly Road, Pittsburgh. The band will help unload a truck of toys and begin to organize them for a distribution day later in the week. Fans that bring a new unused toy during that hour are invited to an informal meet and greet with the band.
"We couldn't be more excited to tour in support of our new album A Tale of Risky Business Part 2 in partnership with The Salvation Army," said Michael Bruno, lead singer for Honor Society. "It's been such a life changing experience working with the organization and we're ready to be out on the road, playing concerts, encouraging our amazing fan base to get in the spirit of giving and to be part of this iconic Salvation Army tradition."
The Salvation Army's Rock the Red Kettle Tour with Honor Society - featuring Michael Bruno, Andrew Lee, Jason Rosen, and Alexander Noyes, will heighten awareness of The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign, which raised a national record $142 million in 2010 and more than 2.5 million dollars for the 28-County Western Pennsylvania Division. The tour will kick off in Orlando on November 26th and will wrap up in Los Angeles. On December 17th, Honor Society will be part of a star-studded lineup with the second annual Rock the Red Kettle Concert at Universal City Walk.
