Honeywell's UOP Russell Equipment To Help PennTex Midstream Partners Recover Valuable Natural Gas Liquids In Northern Louisiana
UOP Russell Modular Equipment to process 200 million cubic feet per day of natural gas
DES PLAINES, Ill., May 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UOP LLC, a Honeywell (NYSE: HON) company, announced today that PennTex Midstream Partners LLC has selected UOP Russell to supply a gas processing plant to recover valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs) in northern Louisiana. The plant, which will process 200 MMSCFD of natural gas, will be in production in the first quarter of 2015.
In addition, UOP Russell will serve as the project's engineering, construction and procurement contractor. UOP Russell's modular design and construction approach allows for quick construction, allowing the equipment to enter service up to six months faster than alternative approaches while ensuring superior quality control.
"A UOP Russell plant is an ideal solution to meet PennTex's need for swift installation and start-up along with reliable production," said Rebecca Liebert, senior vice president and general manager for UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business. "The growing need for midstream services in northern Louisiana will be served well by our flexible, proven solution."
The UOP Russell solution includes supply and installation of modular cryogenic, dehydration, acid gas removal, inlet/residue compression, control system, flare system and site electrical equipment, in addition to site utility systems and buildings for office, control room, motor control center, and compressor requirements.
UOP Russell's pre-engineered modular equipment can easily be shipped to remote locations where gas often is discovered. Modules fit together easily and efficiently, significantly reducing construction time and expense and providing higher reliability after start-up. This enables customers to more quickly begin processing gas and earning revenue. The modular approach also allows for swift field assembly and, when coupled with the UOP Russell standardized installation plan, results in a very cost-effective solution. For repeat customers, the standardized modular approach drives greater ease of operation for the customer due to common parts, skid and installation layouts, and spares that simplify training, operations and maintenance.
UOP Russell's equipment is one of the key technologies offered by UOP's Gas Processing and Hydrogen business to treat and process natural gas. UOP also offers gas technologies to purify hydrogen used in refineries and extract water, mercury, sulfur, carbon dioxide and other contaminants from raw natural gas streams to enable maximum recovery of valuable condensate and NGLs such as ethane, propane and butane. The business has supplied technology to more than 3,600 individual process units for gas processing in a broad range of applications throughout the world.
