Honeywell to Bid Marine Corps Logistics Contract

Company to Lead Logistics Contract; Industry Day Event on June 3 to help Attract Top Partners

PHOENIX, April 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today its intention to bid as a prime contractor for the Marine Corps Logistics Support Services (MCLogss) contract and conduct an industry day to attract top-caliber partners on June 3.

"For more than 27 years, Honeywell has partnered with the Marine Corps to deliver essential logistics services in support of the war fighter," said Maj. Gen. (U.S. Army, retired) Jerome Johnson, vice president, Mission Logistics, Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. "Beginning with the establishment of the Maritime Prepositioning Ships (MPS) program in 1983, Honeywell has supported the Marines through the first Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and multiple humanitarian relief missions. Today Honeywell manages more than three billion dollars in mission-critical assets, allowing three prepositioning squadrons of 16 ships to be fully stocked and ready to deploy 15,000 Marines anywhere in the world at a moment's notice."

HTSI will respond to at least ten different task areas, ranging from program management, to maintenance, training and technical data generation. The MCLogss program supports the Marine Corps Logistics Command (LOGCOM), located in Albany, Ga., with innovative and responsive logistics support for multiple centers in the United States.

In anticipation of the formal request for proposal, Honeywell is soliciting interest from both large and small partners who bring compelling expertise in one or more of the MCLogss task areas. Qualified parties will be invited to attend an industry day in Columbia, Md., on June 3.
