Honeywell Employees Volunteer To Provide Safer and Better Housing and Schools For Low-Income Families Across Mexico

Nearly 800 Honeywell volunteers repaired schools, orphanages and shelter homes in five cities this year
MEXICALI, Mexico, Nov. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON), in partnership with Rebuilding Together, completed a renovation project at Gustavo Vildosola Almada, a middle school for students from low-income families in Mexicali. Honeywell donated USD 8,000 in materials, and more than 300 Honeywell volunteers along with 50 teachers, students and parents spent the day repairing the school facility.
Volunteers painted the interior and exterior area, refurbished the football field and basketball court, repaired electrical equipment, fixed windows, air conditioners and security cameras, installed a flag post, removed waste, and landscaped the common area. Honeywell also donated sports equipment, furniture, water coolers, garbage bins and a video projector.

Honeywell has completed 15 renovation projects in Mexico since 2011. This month, nearly 100 volunteers will repair an orphanage called Casa Hogar el Porvenir del Estudiante in Chihuahua, while employees from Ciudad, Juarez will repair another school in Tarahumara region.
Honeywell combines financial support through employee donations with the aid of hardworking employee volunteers to repair schools, hospitals, daycare centers, and other establishments that are vitally important to our communities.
Since 2003, more than 13,300 Honeywell volunteers have repaired nearly 450 homes and non-profit centers in 42 Honeywell communities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, preserving and revitalizing low-income housing, schools, and other community assets.
