The Build Brigade begins with a ceremony Friday, July 20 at 8:30 a.m. Following the opening event, volunteers will work together to raise the home's first wall. The goal of the three-day build is to frame, side, and roof the house and install windows and doors. Interior and finishing work will be completed in the following months. The home will provide Hall with maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. The project is being funded through the generosity of the Nevada Military Support Alliance.
Sergeant Hall was six months into his first deployment when he lost both of his legs as the result of a mortar attack while at his Forward Operating Base in Afghanistan on June 10, 2010. He looks forward to recovering in a home built to accommodate his needs, providing him with more freedom and independence.
"I am so grateful for everything that is being done for me. Thank you for caring enough to make a difference," said Hall.
