Home, land along Route 29 set for October auction
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Approximately 16.24 acres along busy Route 29, seven miles from Charlottesville Airport, will sell at auction Friday, October 19, with Nicholls Auction Marketing Group conducting the event in cooperation with Wilson Auction Company.
The property, which has approximately 1,450 feet of frontage on Route 29, includes a five-bedroom home, land with mobile homes, and a building formerly used as a motel.
"We've been contracted by the current owners, who have managed the property for several years and are now ready to sell. The location is excellent, and the potential for the land is almost unlimited," said Tony Wilson, president of Wilson Auction Company.
The land will sell in two parcels. The first is a 0.88 acre lot with a five-bedroom brick home, with hardwood flooring and two wood-burning fireplaces.
The second parcel is 15.33 acres, with 13 mobile homes, a garage/workshop and the motel building. Month-to-month leases will be conveyed to the buyer.
Starting suggested bids will be $100,000 for the home and smaller parcel, and $250,000 for the larger parcel.
The auction will begin at 11 a.m. at the property, 6214 Seminole Trail, Barboursville, Virginia, 22923. Individuals seeking additional information may visit www.nichollsauction.com or call 540-360-9860.
"These two parcels will be offered separately and as a whole. It may well be that an investor or developer might choose to buy all of the land and create something entirely new at the site. Given the excellent location, visibility and high traffic, possibilities would abound," said Wilson.
