Hollywood 'Freedom Writer' Will Speak October 8, 2010

LASALLE, Ill., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- An Original Freedom Writer, Manuel V. Scott, whose story is told in the Hollywood movie Freedom Writers, starring two-time Academy Award® winner Hillary Swank, will be speaking to educators of the LaSalle County Regional Office of Education and Marshall-Putnam-Woodford Counties Regional Office of Education on Friday, October 8, 2010.  

He will be sharing with K-5 leaders at LaSalle-Peru High School in the morning, followed by an address to 6-12 educators at Ottawa Township High School.  The day will conclude with an afternoon meeting with PreK-12 instructors at Metamora High School.  Mr. Scott will focus on student motivation, relationship building, and student success.
