Hollister Incorporated Announces $100,000 Commitment to Support the San Diego State University Adapted Athletics Program
LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Hollister Incorporated, an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufactures, and markets healthcare products worldwide is pleased to announce a $100,000 commitment over the next five-years to support the San Diego State University (SDSU) Adapted Athletics program. A minimum of two current or prospective students will receive scholarships to help pursue their academic and athletic goals.
Only a dozen adapted sports programs exist in the U.S. today, and thanks to the Seeds of Hope program, which was founded by ABC Medical's (Port St. Lucie, FL) former CEO, Keith Jones, and Marketing Manager, Isil Tanyeri, this is changing. The Seeds of Hope Initiative seeks to increase the number of competitive, collegiate adapted athletics programs in the United States. In 2016 at San Diego State University, "Seeds of Hope" were planted in cooperation with the student organization, Aztec Adaptive Sports, and the first competitive, collegiate adapted athletics program in California was launched. Today, the organization has grown from a student organization to a sanctioned part of the College of Health and Human Services.
"We are incredibly proud to support the SDSU Adapted Athletics program," said Brian Luedtke, Hollister Incorporated Senior Vice President, The Americas. "The program directly aligns with our Mission to make life more rewarding and dignified for the people who use our products and services."
"This contribution will be great assistance in attracting top talent to SDSU and continuing to help to build the program," said Ahkeel Whitehead, SDSU Adapted Athletics Program Director. "Hollister believes in the future of our student-athletes and we are honored by their tremendous support."
