This season, have some fun with your family while helping a family living in poverty
BOSTON, Nov. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Global relief and development organization Oxfam America launched its annual Unwrapped holiday gift-giving campaign today, urging holiday shoppers not to give the usual suspects this season, but rather to give more meaningful gifts that deliver real rewards.

Oxfam's Unwrapped catalog offers items that symbolically represent the organization's lifesaving work, and each purchase is a contribution toward Oxfam's many programs that help people living in poverty throughout the world. The campaign is highlighted by a "Most Wanted" list of charitable gifts, such as a goat ("The Kid") and building tools ("The Fixer"), all of which help poor families lift themselves out of poverty.
"When you give a gift from Oxfam's most wanted list, you are giving something truly rewarding – a gift that helps someone in need," said Stephanie Kurzina, vice president for development and communications at Oxfam America. "You can give a pair of chickens that create a nest egg for a family living in poverty, a vegetable garden that puts food on the table, or emergency essentials such as soap to stop the spread of disease."
Oxfam America's 2013 holiday campaign will be featured nationally in an integrated marketing push that includes outdoor, print, and online ads, as well as a strong social media presence on Facebook (www.facebook.com/oxfamamerica) and Twitter (@OxfamAmerica). The campaign is supported by actress Rooney Mara, who appears in a: 30 video commercial and other digital promotions by actors Samuel L. Jackson and Aziz Ansari.
Oxfam America is offering a selection of gifts from $12 to $5,000, from goats and honey bees to books for kids to mosquito nets. All gift contributions are general donations to support Oxfam America's mission of fighting poverty, hunger and injustice in over 90 countries around the world. Gifts are fully tax-deductible.
