Holcim (US) Receives HandsOn South Alabama's Corporate Citizenship Award
Theodore plant recognized for outstanding volunteer service
THEODORE, Ala., Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Holcim (US) Inc. (www.holcim.us), one of the nation's leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and mineral components, announced today that its Theodore plant located in Theodore, AL, received the Corporate Citizenship Award from HandsOn South Alabama (HOSA) at the organization's 31st annual Heart of Gold Awards. The award honors volunteer service. HOSA mobilizes volunteers in the community to make a sustainable and measurable impact in education, the environment, economic stability and emergency preparedness.

The Theodore plant was honored for its work as a Partner in Education with St. Elmo Elementary School.
Over the past year, the Holcim (US) Theodore plant participated in a year-long community service initiative Together for Communities, marking the centennial anniversary of its parent company, Holcim Ltd. Many of the plant's efforts focused on the environment including work with Restore Coastal Alabama, the Great American Cleanup and Keep Mobile Beautiful.
