WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa released the following statement today regarding Wisconsin's Aug. 9 recall election results:

"I am proud of Wisconsin's middle-class working families. With these two victories, Wisconsin sent a clear message to Republicans – when you attack working families, you will be held accountable.

"Over the next few days, we will hear right-wing talking heads claim victory in the press, attempting to spin their retention of four out of six Republican state Senate seats into some sort of endorsement of Gov. Scott Walker's anti-worker agenda.

"But we all know the truth: They didn't win four seats – they lost two and barely hung on to two others in closely-contested races.
