AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoar Construction's Austin Office has hit a growth spurt, doubling in size in the past two years and now managing $74 million in project work, spanning healthcare, residential, office, education, and hospitality.
The team has built a presence in the Austin market by providing detailed and accurate estimates, understanding the time-consuming entitlement process, and being progressive thinkers in this technology-focused market.
"Our growth in Austin can be attributed to our focus on our strategic plan, our commitment to one another, and our desire to bring the best to our clients," said Project Executive Jeff Light, who leads the team. "I feel blessed to be surrounded by a solid core of very talented, like-minded people, and our recent additions will only strengthen our group. I'm looking forward to the fun that is yet to come."

These new additions not only had a depth of experience from projects around the country, they also help add to Hoar's knowledge of the local Austin market.
In addition to the new hires, the office has taken on several projects in 2016, managing $74 million in work.
- The team just won the contract for a private campus housing project, owned by Capstone Collegiate Communities, on the University of Texas West Campus based on their excellent budgeting and planning process. The 18-story tower will include 153 units and 441 beds.
- In December, the team broke ground on Shannon Medical Center bed tower expansion in San Angelo, Texas. The project consists of 75,000 square feet of new construction and 45,000 square feet of renovation.
- Work at ACU continues. The team is pushing to finish Wildcat Stadium in the summer to be ready in time for the 2017 football season. The Halbert-Walling Research Center was completed in early December, while its next-door neighbor, the Onstead Center for Science and Humanities, got a facelift in summer 2016. The team also completed the new track and soccer field in the spring of 2015.
- Work on The Richardson at Tarrytown, a three-story, high-end residential complex west of downtown Austin, is nearing completion. The $15 million job will be ready for residents in March.
- The first phase of the mixed use project Elizabeth Street, located in the South Congress District of Austin, completed in the fall of 2016. The second phase, consisting of retail and hotel space, will begin in February 2017.
