HNFS Offers Mobile Mammogram To Vets Of Atlanta
- PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES EXPEDITED ACCESS THROUGH CHOICE PROGRAM
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., Sept. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), announced today a public-private partnership between the Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC), DeKalb Medical's Mobile Mammograms, and HNFS through the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Veterans' Choice Program (VCP).
This newly-formed program will expedite veteran care through the Veterans Choice program by providing mammograms at the Mobile Mammogram vehicle parked weekly at the Atlanta VA Clinic at 250 North Arcadia Boulevard, Decatur, GA on most Mondays. The mobile center will be able to offer between 25 and 40 mammogram appointments each week. This on-site service will support and extend the care offered through the Atlanta VAMC in Decatur, Georgia and will be taking its first 31 confirmed appointments on Monday, September 19, 2016 scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. eastern time.
"Through VA's partnership with HNFS and their network of health care providers, the Choice Program will provide access to state-of-the-art mammogram screenings at the Atlanta VA. Continued access to timely and appropriate community care through public-private partnerships like the Choice Program ensures better health care services and outcomes for our Veterans," said Atlanta VAMC Director Annette P. Walker.
"This innovative public-private partnership allows HNFS to support the Atlanta VAMC by offering additional capacity for this preventative service as an extension of VA care. It also provides expedited access to local veterans in need of these services. This Mobile Mammograms program offers an exciting path to similar partnerships with VAMCs nationwide and it could not be possible without the tenacity of DeKalb Medical, VA and the HNFS team," said Billy Maynard, president and CEO of Health Net Federal Services.
The weekly mammogram program will commence on Monday, September 19, 2016 in the parking lot of the Atlanta VA Clinic at 250 North Arcadia Boulevard, Decatur, GA 30030. Veterans can access this service by referral from the Atlanta VAMC.
