HM Health Solutions Achieves HITRUST CSF Certification in Ongoing Commitment to Security

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HM Health Solutions (HMHS), a subsidiary of Highmark Health, announced that it has received Common Security Framework (CSF) Certified status from the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) as part of its ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of privacy and security to the company's clients and partners. The certification applies to HMHS' main claims processing systems as well as those of United Concordia Dental, Highmark Health's dental wellness subsidiary.

The structure of the HITRUST CSF was developed by information security and healthcare compliance experts, and incorporates federal and state regulations, industry standards, and best practices focused on safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI).  Organizations that have met the stringent control requirements of HITRUST CSF are better equipped to manage complex regulatory environments and effectively secure confidential data.
