Students were able to discuss the technology they use both in school and out of school and the benefits it can bring to their education.
"Participating in events such as the EBF is an important way for HITN Learning to connect with industry leaders, educators and students who help drive the trends in ed tech," Rust remarked. "Our presence reaffirms our commitment to fostering bilingual education through advanced teaching tools, all with the goal of contributing to the academic, social and emotional success of Hispanic students and their families."
Presiding over the forum was Mitch Weisburgh, President of the Software & Information Industry Association's Education Technology Industry Network (SIIA/ETIN), who expressed his satisfaction at "sharing a program that involves key players such as HITN Learning in presenting and promoting the latest trends in education technology."
Ron Link, Principal of the Theatre Arts Production Company School (TAPCo) in the Bronx and the winner of numerous awards for his work to ensure a quality education for low-income students, selected the young people who participated in a new "Voices of the Future" segment at this year's Forum. "I am always excited to take part in this type of event, where students are the ultimate beneficiaries. The technological tools and solutions we saw here are designed for a digital generation," he acknowledged. "Giving industry leaders the opportunity to have a frank dialogue with students of this caliber should help them better understand and serve the needs of their peers nationwide."
