Historic Groundbreaking of First Stand-Alone Inpatient Detox Center in Maryland

Officially opening in 2018, Maryland House Detox will provide 24 hour, 7 days per week of medically monitored detoxification with a projected average length of stay of 5-7 days, followed by a highly personalized warm transition into the next level of care.  To support the next steps in making this historic facility a reality, Governor Hogan's Opioid Operational Command Center Executive Director Clay Stamp, Drug Enforcement Administration Assistant Special Agent in Charge Don Hibbert, Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh and other federal and state government officials will be attending the ceremony to share personal remarks on what this facility means to both the local community and to the state of Maryland.

"We are proud of what our facility will do for Maryland, but are equally proud of the fact that we will be the first stand-alone, inpatient detox center in the state," said David Stup, Director of Operations for Delphi Behavioral Health Group. "While breaking ground will be a significant achievement itself, we are most proud of the services we are offering to those seeking high-quality, evidence-based alcohol and drug detoxification treatment as we look forward to becoming an integral piece of the treatment system in the state. Given the state of the heroin and opioid emergency, declared by Maryland's Governor, Larry Hogan, this is a moment in Maryland's history to be remembered."

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the Maryland House Detox building site at 817 South Camp Meade Road, Linthicum, MD 21090. The ceremony will run from 10:30-11:15 a.m., and will be followed by a Q&A from Maryland House Detox staff for members of the press in attendance.
