In Philadelphia, HIP and its funding partners have provided more than $2.3 million in grants and training for 44 Latino-led, Latino-serving nonprofit organizations. These nonprofits provide legal services for immigrants, promote health in Latino communities, provide venues for creative expression rooted in Latin American traditions, and advocate for the unique needs and challenges faced by Latinos. Through HIP funding, these organizations have grown their budgets, strengthened their administrative systems, and identified new strategies so that they can increase their impact in Latino communities.
This event is part of HIP's year-long campaign to celebrate Latinos who shape philanthropy at the local, national and global levels.
For more than 26 years, Hispanics in Philanthropy has fostered social change in Latino communities. Through its wide-impact collaborative grantmaking programs, HIP has established the foundation for a strong Latino civil sector by investing in Latino leaders and grassroots organizations. HIP has raised nearly $40 million to support more than 500 Latino-led nonprofits in 18 different sites across the U.S. and Latin America. Through its transnational work, HIP seeds economic development projects that draw upon the vast resources of the Hispanic Diaspora, transforming challenges into opportunities.
