Hispanic Scholarship Fund Announces 2015 Scholars Of The Year At Annual Leaders In Education Awards Luncheon
Parents, Community Partner, and Corporate Partner also Honored
LOS ANGELES, April 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, in Los Angeles, California, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), the nation's largest not-for-profit organization supporting Latino higher education, held it's annual the Leaders in Education Awards (LEA) Luncheon to recognize distinguished HSF Scholars, parents, a community partner, and a corporate partner for their exemplary service as champions of higher education for Hispanic students.

Announced at the LEA luncheon are HSF's Female Scholar of the Year, Natalie Aguirre, a biology major at Pepperdine University, and Male Scholar of the Year, Chris Soriano, a biology major at the University of California, Los Angeles. Each was chosen from a field of ten finalists among hundreds of candidates for the honor.
Awards were also presented for the following:
LEA Parents of the Year - Patricia and Juan Garcia for supporting, encouraging, guiding, and inspiring their children to pursue higher education.
LEA Community Partner of the Year – National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund for their partnership with HSF, in supporting Latino students' academic development and access to higher education.
LEA Corporate Partner of the Year - The Walt Disney Company in recognition of its long-standing philanthropic commitment and support of the Hispanic community.
