Hispanic National Bar Association Commends the Confirmation of Edgardo Ramos
WASHINGTON, Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) commends the United States Senate for the confirmation of Edgardo Ramos to the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York on Monday. Judge Ramos' addition to the bench is well merited and reflects the diverse population of the Southern District of New York.

Judge Ramos started his career as an Associate in the Litigation Department at Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett LLP. Thereafter he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1992 to 2000, and subsequently became the Deputy Chief of the Narcotics and OCDETF Unit at the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York. Before his confirmation he served as a Partner at Day Pitney LLP where he worked with the White Collar Defense and Internal Investigations Practice Group in New York, NY. He received his B.A. from Yale University, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987.
