SUWANEE, Ga., Aug. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hisense USA today announced its leadership appointments to help foster its next phase of growth in the United States. Effective immediately, the U.S team will comprise three veteran consumer electronics industry executives tasked with overseeing all aspects of the Hisense business and maintaining the rapid growth the company has achieved since launching in the U.S. in 2009.
Alex Zhu was appointed CEO, Hisense USA; David Gold, Deputy General Manager and Vice President of Sales, Hisense USA; and Peter Erdman, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Hisense USA. Zhu succeeds Jerry Liu, who was recently appointed to CEO of Africa and the Middle East regions to oversee Hisense's continued growth in international markets.
"I am very grateful to have the confidence, trust and support from the leadership of Hisense International as I take on the role of CEO for Hisense USA," said Mr. Zhu. "The U.S. market is a very important and critical part of Hisense's international success. Together with Mr. Gold, Mr. Erdman and others, I will focus on the continued growth of the brand that further enhances our competitive edge as a global technology and enables us to achieve long-term success not only in sales but in the hearts and minds of our consumers," he added.
- Alex Zhu joined the Company in 2003 and was pivotal in growing Hisense International's presence in the Middle Eastern, African and UAE markets. Most recently, Mr. Zhu was the Vice president of Television, Home Appliances and Audio for Hisense International. As CEO of Hisense USA, Mr. Zhu will oversee the continued growth strategy for the brand in the U.S. market as it looks to reinforce its commitment to creating amazing television viewing experiences for consumers – from content to technology.
- David Gold was previously the General Manager of Hisense Mexico, where he oversaw tremendous growth for the Hisense brand as it became the #3 television brand in the country, a leading mobile phone provider and oversaw the renovation of the former Sharp plant implementing Hisense's manufacturing processes and doubling productivity and production. In this new role, Mr. Gold will work to strengthen relationships with strategic accounts as well as help oversee the evolution of the brand in the U.S.
- Peter Erdman has been with the company for more than six years, most recently acting as Vice President of Sales. Mr. Erdman will bring his deep knowledge of Hisense, the industry and the relationships he's developed over the years to move marketing to the next stage of brand development in the U.S. As a sponsor of U.S. Soccer and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Hisense grew brand awareness and is now looking to convert this recognition into deeper relationships with its customers and broader awareness of Hisense's premium products.
"It is an exciting time for Hisense USA and I look forward to Mr. Zhu's leadership to help guide our presence in the U.S with support from our new executive team members, including Mr. Gold and Mr. Erdman," said Dr. Lin Lan, General Manager of Hisense International. "In addition to overseeing the Company's continued growth in the U.S. market, Mr. Zhu will also run all U.S. operations; leveraging his previous international market experience to take the brand to new heights."
