Hiscox Expands Business Owners Policy for Small Businesses to 17 additional states
Coverage now available in 20 states
NEW YORK, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hiscox, the first insurer offering U.S. small businesses the ability to purchase insurance direct online and in real time, today announced the expansion of their Business Owners Policy (BOP) offering beyond the initial states of Arizona, California and New York, with coverage now available in 17 additional states.
The business owner's insurance package (BOP) combines general liability insurance with business property coverage to address typical risks faced by small businesses. The BOP offering provides businesses with customized and flexible coverage options for risks including commercial property, office buildings, commercial crime, electronic data loss and hired or non-owned vehicles liability. BOP coverage through Hiscox starts at approximately $500 a year and home-based businesses can qualify for discounts of up to 10%.
Hiscox's BOP insurance coverage is now available online or over the phone in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.
"The initial roll out of our Business Owners Policy in the first three states has drawn a lot of interest and we're excited we can now meet our customer's needs in a much larger selection of states," said Kevin Kerridge, small business insurance expert from Hiscox. "The BOP coverage is a key addition to our product suite for small business owners, offering them additional protection for their business equipment and property, as well as additional exposures small business owners commonly face."
Hiscox provides insurance products specifically designed for the small business and home-office market. Products available for small businesses also include professional liability insurance coverage (errors and omissions insurance) customized for a range of knowledge-based professions including IT, management consulting, business consulting and marketing. Hiscox offers professional liability insurance quotes direct and online in real-time along with other liability insurance products such as general liability insurance. Hiscox's licensed insurance advisors are solely focused on helping small businesses with their insurance needs.
