He has also held a technical marketing position at Xerox Canada.
As an entrepreneur, he co-founded Management & Planning Software (MPS) in 1974, one of Canada's first software companies. MPS pioneered Corporate Planning & Financial Planning using computer-based modeling and simulation. Its MPS-F software was successfully sold to large companies and used by several others on the computer time-sharing networks of CSC, SDL, and UCC across Canada and the U.S.. He consulted to large organisations and developed corporate planning models for Brascan, Canadian Pacific, C.P. Hotels, Suncor, Govt. Of Canada, Hudson's Bay Co., Northern Telecom, Saskatchewan Mining & Development, and many other organisations. Hiroo obtained his D.O.R. degree from the University of Toronto in addition to his MS IE from Cornell University, as well as an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, Canada.
Due to his wide-ranging experience and technological skills, he was listed in the 1995 International Who's Who of Professionals directory and in 2010 recognized as an Honoured Member of the Stanford Who's Who of Executives, Entrepreneurs & Professionals.
He is an esteemed member of IBM 1960's Alumni, PEO, SIP, CIPS, AAAI, PEI and PCT, and enjoys travel, wine tasting, and lawn bowling in his spare time.
