Hip Replacement Lawsuits Settle for $1.4 Billion - Deadline for Patients Imminent

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier this month, a settlement was announced in the amount of what will ultimately be more than $1.4 Billion on behalf of patients who have received hip replacement implants manufactured by Stryker Orthopedic.

In 2012, Stryker Orthopedic voluntarily pulled their hip replacement systems, Rejuvenate and ABGII, off the market. The metal-on-metal components used, caused very serious and catastrophic injuries in patients, including blood poisoning and serious muscle and tissue death.

"Throughout the litigation, there were many discoveries made; including the fact that Stryker knew long before the recall of July 2012 that their Rejuvenate and ABGII hip replacement systems were defective.
