Hilton Munich Airport Expanded With New Design and 162 Additional Rooms
MUNICH, April 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
International hotel group Hilton is celebrating the completed expansion of its hotel at the Munich airport, recently named the best airport in Europe by the SKYTRAX Airport Awards. The awards also honored the Hilton Munich Airport this year, giving it the SKYTRAX Airport Hotel Award for being the best airport hotel in Europe and the fourth best in the world. By expanding the hotel, Hilton is reacting strategically to the growth in passenger traffic out of Munich and now offers guests around 40 percent more rooms. It has also expanded the hotel's meeting spaces at the extraordinary palm atrium to a capacity of up to 500 participants.
The Hilton Munich Airport is very popular among both business clients and leisure travelers, as it is the only hotel at the Munich airport with direct access to Terminal 2. Moving forward, guests will enjoy even greater comfort: The hotel has increased its overall capacity by 162 deluxe rooms covering nearly 95,000 square feet. The north extension connects to the hotel complex by a passageway. The Hilton Munich Airport now offers guests 551 rooms. Special highlights are the rooms on the upper floor, which offer spectacular views over the runway.
High-level meetings
The east wing of the meeting center was expanded and modernized as well. It has 17 renovated or newly built event rooms, which Hilton business customers can use for meetings and events. All feature high-level technical equipment. The meeting area has space to accommodate up to 500 guests. Customers can book private offices for two people by the hour or a large, day lit event space.
International mountain hub design concept
The Munich airport, which was selected by passengers from all over the world as the fourth-best airport worldwide and the best airport in Europe, serves as an international connection hub.[1] The Hilton Munich Airport's location near the Alps was considered in its interior design, with an emphasis on local flair and well-being as well as on cutting-edge techniques. All rooms were styled by JOI Design in a natural style featuring authentic references to the region. The focus of the interior design is on concepts like "mountains" and "airport," highlighting materials like light oak wood, natural stone and felt. Not only rooms, but also bathrooms showcase the new design. Unusual for hotel groups, the Hilton Munich Airport aligned also here the design to the "mountain" theme.
"We are very proud that the hotel was expanded this way. Our priority is to offer Hilton guests even more coziness, comfort and functions-including for business and conference purposes, as we now offer more room capacities for larger meeting requests," says Dagmar Mühle, general manager of the Hilton Munich Airport. Further reconstruction activities, such as a restaurant redesign, are also planned for this year.
