Radio Free Hillsdale is first college radio station to attend the national conservative conference
HILLSDALE, Mich., Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hillsdale College's student radio station WRFH Radio Free Hillsdale will be among the broadcasters on Radio Row at the Conservative Political Action Conference, hosted by the American Conservative Union in National Harbor, Maryland, this week as the first college radio station to be part of the event's media corps.
"We're thrilled to be attending CPAC this year and adding our voice to the coverage coming out of this important event," said Scot Bertram, WRFH general manager. "Our students work hard to bring quality coverage to Radio Free Hillsdale, and this is an incredible opportunity to do that same work on a national stage alongside veteran media professionals."
Hillsdale students will travel to the CPAC as members of the press covering the four-day national conference. Radio Free Hillsdale reporters will be interviewing a number of conference speakers and attendees as part of the event's Radio Row, which has welcomed famous talk show hosts such as Larry O'Connor, Lars Larson, Andrew Wilkow, David Webb, Erick Erickson and Sean Hannity in previous years. In addition to use on Radio Free Hillsdale, these interviews will be made available for use on radio programs nationwide and are available for download here.
This year marks the 44th annual CPAC, which was founded in 1974 and featured a keynote address from then-Gov. Ronald Reagan. Scheduled speakers for the 2018 CPAC include President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, national radio and television host Sean Hannity, Sen. Ted Cruz, Heritage Foundation Kay Coles James and Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn, among many other conservative leaders in policy and media.
