Hilliard Munoz Gonzales LLP Appeals to GM's Humanity - "Tell your customers to PARK IT NOW!"
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, the attorney leading the class action suit against General Motors sent a personal email to the GM attorneys investigating the carmaker's failure to recall vehicles with faulty ignition switches.
EMOTIONAL COMMUNICATION
Robert Hilliard, partner at Texas law firm Hilliard Munoz Gonzales LLP (HMG), sent an emotionally-charged email to Tony Valukas and Harold Franklin, entreating them to issue an urgent "Park It NOW" alert to the owners of the 1.6 million affected vehicles.
Hilliard communicated with the attorneys "human being to human being," asking them to put an immediate stop to "Russian roulette with GM vehicles" and to "encourage those in power at GM to do whatever it takes to change GM's message from a typical recall notice to a "Park It NOW" alert and show that GM is willing to put the safety of tomorrow's victim ahead of the company's own fears about its reputation."
CLASS ACTION SUIT
On Friday March 14, 2014, Hilliard Munoz Gonzales LLP (HMG), a Texas law firm, filed a class-action suit — the first in the nation — against General Motors on behalf of victims, families and survivors of those injured or killed in crashes caused by the faulty ignition switch in eight GM models. It is believed that over 300 deaths have occurred because of the problem, which GM admits it has known about since 2004. GM recalled 1.6 million affected cars in February 2014, ten years after discovering the dangerous equipment failure.
"Everyone who owns one of these recalled vehicles needs to park it now! When this defect occurs, the power steering will not work, the power brakes will not work, and the airbags will not deploy!
"Driving a recalled GM vehicle is like carrying a stick of dynamite with a slow-burning fuse. When it goes off it will be sudden, violent and deadly."
