Hillary Rodham Clinton to Receive American Patriot Award from the National Defense University Foundation
Former U.S. Secretary of State and Former U.S. Senator from New York will be honored on Nov. 14, 2013
WASHINGTON, July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton, who served as U.S. Secretary of State from 2009 until earlier this year, and who previously served as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee while U.S. Senator from New York, has been selected to receive the American Patriot Award, presented by the National Defense University Foundation (NDU Foundation).
This year's American Patriot Award, which annually recognizes leaders who have strengthened America's strategic interests and advanced global security, will be presented on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at a gala dinner hosted by the NDU Foundation at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. More than 500 guests, including Administration officials, members of Congress, senior military and diplomatic officers, and corporate and community leaders are expected to attend. Support of the American Patriot Award gala benefits National Defense University (NDU), America's preeminent educational institution for the study of national and international security.
Past American Patriot Award honorees include: President George H.W. Bush, Dr. Robert Gates, The Honorable Henry Kissinger, Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, General Colin Powell and Admiral William McRaven on behalf of the troops of United States Special Operations Command.
