Hillard Heintze Names William Aslan CFO
Critical Appointment Follows a 55% Increase in Headcount in 2009 - and Represents a Strategic Step Forward as the Inc. 500 Company Prepares for a Second Wave of Growth
CHICAGO, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Hillard Heintze today announced that it has named William V. Aslan as Chief Financial Officer. Having served as the firm's external CPA and financial advisor for several years, Aslan will now oversee the firm's financial activities "from the inside". Aslan will be responsible for accounting and reporting, financial planning and analysis, procurement, billing and collections, and disbursements – and will report directly to CEO Arnette F. Heintze. This appointment comes at a strategic phase in the company's rapid expansion – two months after a year in which headcount increased by 55% and six months after being ranked by Inc. Magazine as one of America's fastest growing private companies with a three-year sales growth of 892%.
Prior to joining Hillard Heintze, Aslan served as a CPA and corporate financial advisor providing accounting, tax and financial consulting services to a broad mix of corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships – a role that often leveraged his front-line financial and managerial experience in the food distribution, paper and pharmaceutical industries.
"Having Wil join our team is highly strategic to Hillard Heintze on two levels," said Heintze, who co-founded the firm with partner Terry Hillard in 2004. "On the one hand, he brings the internal financial rigor and experience that we need to support our growth immediately and in the long term. And at the same time, by bringing a robust level of financial insight to our market engagements, he has already begun to help Hillard Heintze provide clients with distinctive offerings that integrate three elements. First, a risk-based approach to addressing risks, threats and vulnerabilities. Second, consistent application of best practices in security and investigations. And third, the rigorous financial discipline required to ensure that the firm's recommendations to clients are practical, affordable and enduring."
These challenges are very familiar territory for Aslan. As a divisional Vice President of Finance at Alliant Foodservice (formerly Kraft Foodservice), he was responsible for overseeing $800 million in annual sales and an indirect staff of 80 before he was promoted to the position of Senior Director of Finance, with CFO-level responsibility for pricing and procurement operations across the multi-billion enterprise. Earlier in his career, Aslan held finance positions at Container Corporation of America, Baxter Healthcare (Travenol Labs) and Arthur Anderson & Co.
"This team is dynamic. Their business model is outstanding. And the firm's financial position – and outlook – are excellent," said Aslan. "This company is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing businesses I've encountered over the course of my career." To access Aslan's complete bio, visit www.hillardheintze.com/william_aslan.php.
