Hillard Heintze Names Steven M. Bova Director of Information and Technology
Appointment Deepens the Firm's Ability to Support Advisory Clients in the Justice and Law Enforcement Markets such as TASER, Verint Technologies, Recipero and Convergint Technologies
CHICAGO, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Hillard Heintze, one of the leading strategic security advisory and management firms in the United States and an Inc. 500/5000 company, appointed Steven M. Bova as Director of Information and Technology. Bova joins Hillard Heintze from Analysts International, where he served as a member of the senior leadership team as well as a senior subject-matter expert and Director of the Public Safety / Homeland Security Sector. In this capacity, he oversaw the establishment of information technology protocols and standards for state and local Fusion Centers – the critical intelligence-sharing hubs of the justice system.
"Steve's a wonderful addition to our team," says CEO Arnette Heintze, who co-founded the firm with Terry Hillard in 2004. "Now and in the years ahead, it is very likely that the single greatest driver of innovation and progress in justice and law enforcement practices will continue to be information technology. Steve has an expert understanding of this technology, and as our clients will discover, he is very well versed in its strategic implications for their goals and priorities. We think Steve will prove critically valuable to several of our advisory clients who are actively bringing leading-edge technologies to the justice and law enforcement markets – rapidly growing companies such as TASER, Verint Technologies, Recipero and Convergint Technologies."
Earlier in his career, Bova served as Bureau Chief within the Information and Technology Command of the Illinois State Police as well as the state's Chief Technical Analyst in the Illinois Technology Office. In these capacities, Bova led and directed enterprise-wide initiatives to improve information sharing among law enforcement agencies and the public and to better prepare and secure critical information systems to promote officer and citizen safety.
"I think this is a special time," Bova agrees. "And Hillard Heintze is at the leading edge. Right now, we're at the threshold of a tremendous expansion in information sharing opportunities, technologies and partnerships that are, in many cases, changing the face of the justice and law enforcement community. Every day now, we're working with clients to embrace this at some level. And helping them to see this value in concrete terms is enormously exciting."
Bova is a specialist in a number of related domains, including Enterprise Architecture, Intelligence Led Policing (ILP), Intelligence and Analytics, Geospatial Mapping (GIS), Fusion Centers (Intake, Analyze, Disseminate and Archive), Collaboration, Facilitation, and the requisite proficiency for the policies, business processes and technologies to support each of these activities. In addition, he has served as an expert on two leading industry boards: the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Policy Board and the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (Nlets) Board of Directors.
