Hill & Knowlton Appoints Joshua Lamel to Lead D.C. Technology Practice
WASHINGTON, Oct. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Joshua Lamel has been appointed senior vice president and practice leader of Hill & Knowlton's D.C. technology team. He will report dually to Hadley Wilkins, director of the US technology practice, and Duncan Burns, general manager of the D.C. office.
As head of the D.C. technology practice, Joshua will lead the office's efforts on both new and current technology clients. He will focus on growing H&K's business in the D.C. technology sector and will lead the team in enhancing client service and driving business development initiatives.
Previously Joshua founded and ran J2 Public Strategies, a full service consulting, government relations and lobbying firm. Prior to that he worked in a number of roles at the trade association TechAmerica where he was most recently senior vice president of commercial policy and government affairs. While at TechAmerica, Joshua developed and led public policy and public affairs for the association. He was also a member of the association's senior leadership team where he worked with the CEO and other department heads on overall management and strategic positioning of the organization.
In addition, Joshua has worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Kendrick B. Meek as his chief of staff and Senator Ron Wyden as his legislative counsel.

Joshua received a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School.
