Hill & Knowlton Adds Mike Nelson to its Expanding West Coast Healthcare Practice

LOS ANGELES, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill & Knowlton, an international communications consultancy, announced that Mike Nelson has joined the West Coast healthcare practice as a vice president.  Nelson's arrival continues the strategic West Coast expansion of the firm's healthcare practice with an emphasis of in-house experience from the senior team.  

Nelson has spent more than a decade providing counsel to pharmaceutical and medical device companies with experience spanning traditional communications, as well as patient advocacy relations and public policy. He joins H&K from Roche where he last served as international communications & policy manager focused on virology (hepatitis and HIV) in the global marketing function in Basel, Switzerland.  Prior to his international assignment, Nelson was a director in the product public relations and advocacy group for Roche in the US. He also worked at Manning Selvage & Lee in New York, supporting clients in a number of therapeutic areas.  

The West Coast Healthcare Practice, led by senior vice presidents and co-directors Christine Cassiano and Andrea Rothschild, was launched in 2007, and today has a diverse and growing client base.  The H&K Healthcare Practice's senior team stands apart bringing deep in-house experience from pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical companies and hospital systems such as Amgen, Roche, Allergan, AstraZeneca and Providence Health & Services Hospitals.
