BOZEMAN, Mont., March 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The highly anticipated Expedition Overland (XO) will return in season 2 for a truly epic journey through Central America – one of the most breathtaking and complex areas of the world. The team of seven and their three overland-equipped Toyotas will embark this spring to film throughout eight Central American countries, beginning at the Baja Peninsula and concluding in Panama. The 12-episode series will begin airing in July 2015 on the Expedition Overland YouTube channel; viewers are invited to follow the adventure as it unfolds at xoverland.com beginning April 15.
Fueling the excitement, Toyota has provided two, 2015 Trail Premium Edition 4Runners - both sporting Toyota's overland-readiness and enhanced with premium expedition-caliber accessories. Complementing the fleet is XO's tested and true 2013 Toyota Tacoma. Both Toyota models are listed by Expedition Portal as one of 2015's Top Five Overland Vehicles for North America. Rolling on General GRABBERTM AT2 tires, these vehicles will be put to multiple tests of difficulty, high risk, and endurance over varying terrain.
Central America's many countries, cultures, languages, and roads serve as the backbone of the adventure. Portions of the Baja 1000 race course will be traveled as the team makes their way down the Baja Peninsula. Once in Guatemala, the crew will meet up with Team 5 Medical Foundation doctors and perform medical procedures throughout remote villages. The adventure will eventually conclude in Panama at the infamous Darién Gap. In addition to state-of-the-art vehicles, equipment and gear provided by sponsors: Equipt Expedition Outfitters, Triple Aught Design, and MAXTRAX will prove indispensable as the XO team navigates one of the most challenging places in the world. Adventure, drama, and mishaps are guaranteed throughout this two-month expedition.
