HighTower advisors represent two out of five honorees in prestigious industry ranking
CHICAGO, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Research magazine named Dr. Eugene Lerner from HighTower's Lerner Group and Greg Sarian from HighTower's Sarian Group to its 2014 Advisor Hall of Fame. Now in its 24th year, the Hall of Fame recognizes excellence in the financial advisory profession by honoring a small group of elite performers annually.
The 2014 Hall of Fame honorees will be profiled in the December print issue of Research and featured online at http://www.thinkadvisor.com/research-magazine, on November 24.

Dr. Eugene Lerner is a Managing Director and Partner at HighTower. He leads the Lerner Group (http://www.hightoweradvisors.com/who-we-are/advisors/the-lerner-group), based in Deerfield, Ill. His research and expertise in stocks, bonds and regulation of the financial industry have earned him international recognition in both academic and financial industry circles. Previously, he was a Director of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Chicago Stock Exchange and was President of his own investment advisory firm, Disciplined Investment Advisors, for more than 20 years.
Dr. Lerner is also Professor Emeritus of Finance at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and has traveled the world as a visiting faculty member at universities in Thailand, South Korea, South Africa, Ireland, France, Ecuador, Venezuela and Switzerland. He served as Senior Economist for the House Banking and Currency Committee, and was an Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and has testified at numerous legislative hearings on a wide range of financial topics. The author of eight books on financial and investment strategies, he has also written more than 60 articles for publication in leading scholarly journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Money and Credit, and the American Economic Review.
Greg Sarian, also a Managing Director and Partner at HighTower, leads the Sarian Group (http://www.hightoweradvisors.com/who-we-are/advisors/the-sarian-group) in Wayne, Pa. Before joining HighTower, Mr. Sarian worked for Merrill Lynch, where he was selected by senior management to instruct other top performing Merrill Lynch financial advisors in advanced wealth management strategies. He specializes in financial planning with an emphasis on executive compensation, risk management, tax minimization, and wealth transfer planning.
