CHICAGO, July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HighTower is the new home for Guggenheim Investment Advisory wealth managers and their clients. In HighTower's ninth transition year-to-date, Christopher Shin and Jeffrey Fulk bring Guggenheim's sophisticated friends-and-family client base and approximately $325 million in assets to the firm.
"The Guggenheim wealth management practice perfectly aligns with HighTower's cultural profile and the high caliber of our advisors and clients," said Michael Parker, National Director of Enterprise Development, HighTower. "We proudly welcome Christopher, Jeff and their clients to the HighTower community."
Guggenheim has been a provider of alternative investments on the HighTower platform since 2011. The product line offered through HighTower caters specifically to Guggenheim's core audience of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investors. The firms' existing working relationship helped establish HighTower as a natural fit to take over Guggenheim's private client business. HighTower will continue to use the Guggenheim Alternatives Platform in support of its wealth management solutions.
"HighTower is a first-class firm and their trajectory gives our clients an exceptional platform to grow with them," said Dina DiLorenzo, Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners and Global Head of Guggenheim Investment Advisory. "That alignment allows us to focus on our leading alternatives investment platform and help advisors create bespoke alternatives solutions from Guggenheim-vetted hedge-fund strategies for their clients."
Christopher Shin joins HighTower as Managing Director and Partner. He served for more than five years as the Head of U.S. Portfolio Management for Guggenheim Investment Advisors, leading portfolio management for the multi-family office, including high-net-worth, endowment, and foundation clients. Prior to joining Guggenheim, he worked in portfolio management and trading at Goldman Sachs, Sailfish Capital Partners, Wachovia Securities and Bear Stearns. Jeffrey Fulk will support Mr. Shin at HighTower in the role of Executive Director. Before coming to Guggenheim, Mr. Fulk worked as a portfolio manager and hedge fund analyst for Signet Capital Management.
"HighTower stood out for their financial strength and unique platform," said Mr. Shin. "We were also very attracted to the collaborative community of like-minded professionals who share our passion to serve our clients."
