Highly Adaptable Enclosure Offers Precision Design to Meet Unique Application Requirements
Simplified, elegant housing protects highly complex electronics inside
FREMONT, Calif., July 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Elma Electronic's iD-Box 16 is a highly versatile, sleek enclosure cleverly designed to maximize use of space by meeting the exact dimensions dictated by a specific application. The new enclosure combines superior ergonomic and environmental options with a modern, sleek look that can be uniquely tailored to an individual user's needs, down to the millimeter.
Technical Specifications
- Unique aesthetics in solid structural design
- Ergonomic interface for easy viewing, sitting or standing
- Modular height, width and depth to the millimeter
- User-specific front and rear panel designs
The modern design of the iD-Box 16 is not just aesthetic. Its award-winning structural stability is as solid as it is innovative. The optional carrying handle can double as the foot of the enclosure, providing a more stable base on which the platform rests. In addition, the modular aluminum structure features less mounting hardware for better structural integrity and a minimalistic look, and the new enclosure is easy to assemble.
The size and color of the iD-Box 16 can be adapted to a variety of configurations. The sloped front can also be designed for adjustable viewing, with multiple panel options for optimized ergonomics, such as for viewing the display while standing or sitting. The sloped front panel is also ideal for touch-screen applications.
Interactive HMI interfaces and custom graphics printing, such as logos or labels, are just some of the additional options that can be incorporated into the final design.
This combination of modularity, durability and sleek design is ideal in applications where the user regularly interfaces with equipment that is typically located in a highly visible place. Specific uses include test and measurement instruments, medical equipment, calibrating devices and scientific instrumentation.
Typical iD-Box 16 units can be shipped as kits or Elma can do the integration services: PCB mounting, power supplies, HMI hardware, cabling and wiring services and custom printing. Thermal and EMC analysis testing and implementation also available.
The original iD-Box 16 design won the prestigious reddot award in 2014 for product design.
Pricing starts at $360 in low volumes, which includes modified front and rear panels with digital printing. Delivery is dependent upon design options.
