Highland Capital Strengthens Business Development, Adds Managing Director
NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Highland Capital Management, L.P. ("Highland"), a Dallas-based investment management firm, which together with its affiliates has approximately $23 billion in assets under management, today announced that Brian Rice has joined the firm as Managing Director. Based in Highland's New York office, Mr. Rice reports to Clay Shumway, Head of Business Development.
Mr. Rice is responsible for business development primarily in the U.S. and Europe including developing strategic relationships with institutional investors, consultants and wealth management platforms.

Mr. Rice has 15 years of experience providing alternative investment solutions to investors globally. Prior to joining Highland, he served as Partner and Managing Director at Investcorp International, a $13 billion alternative asset manager where he focused on business development activities in the United States and Europe from its New York office. Before joining Investcorp, Mr. Rice held similar positions at Trust Company of the West and Atlantic Investment both in New York. He started his career at Deutsche Bank in New York where he spent approximately 10 years serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Sales for the Absolute Return/Hedge Fund practice. He received an MBA from Boston College and a B.A. from the University of Vermont.
