Higher education institutions showcase Latin American talent
Online contest to award ten full post secondary education scholarships
MIAMI, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In its second year, the Ilumno Network's "One Million Possibilities to Make your Dreams Come True" contest launches this week to promote access and inclusion to post secondary education in Latin America by awarding ten aspiring students with a scholarship to study at any of the ten member institutions in eight countries.
Last year, nearly 70,000 people voted in support of more than 1,000 participants before a panel of judges from the non-profit Ilumno Network selected the ten 2012 winners.
Starting this week, aspiring students can now showcase their talents via video, photo or a write up, and use social networks to generate online votes to support their submissions. From the top 30 vote-getters in the contest, ten winning scholarship recipients will be selected. The contest will be open through October 4, 2013.
"Through the Network's Centers of Excellence in Social Responsibility, and Financing and Scholarships, Ilumno is committed to giving back and educating the next generation of global leaders in the Latin America," said Raul Duany, director of Institutional Affairs for the Ilumno Network. "Because of new technologies we can offer unprecedented access to aspiring students anywhere they may be, first to showcase their talents in the contest, but more importantly to offer students the opportunity to obtain an affordable quality post secondary education through presential or distance learning modalities."
