WASHINGTON, April 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Workshops on developing high-tech companies, business matchmaking and tips on finding capital to start or grow a successful business are among the top draws planned for the May 15 National Small Business Week event in Boston.
Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight through National Small Business Week the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S territories. This year, in addition to other SBA regional and local small business week events being held – the city of Boston, along with San Francisco, Kansas City, and Washington, D.C. were selected to host one of the four national events.
The Boston event will be held at the Microsoft New England Research and Development (NERD) Center at 1 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA 02142. Registration and a networking breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.
Later that morning Microsoft Business Development Manager Allison Saltzer will lead a discussion on hi-tech and innovative business ideas with business leaders that include Rail-Pod founder Brendan English, Terrafugia CEO/CTO Carl Dietrich, MassChallenge CEO/Founder John Harthorne, and Donna Levin from Care.com.
The day's breakout sessions will focus on ways to steer clear of mistakes while establishing your small business, how to get access to capital, and best practices to inspire and energize your colleagues.
