High School Students Prepare for a Future in Filmmaking and More at Tribeca Flashpoint Academy
CHICAGO, Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspiring digital artists from all over the country are getting a taste of their future careers in Tribeca Flashpoint Academy's High School Summer Program.
Teens who are passionate or curious about digital media can enroll in any of TFA's High School Workshops, offering week-long sessions in HD Film Production, Studio Recording, VFX + Animation, Game Design, and Graphic Design. These workshops are scheduled to take place in June, July, and August of 2013.
In the HD Film Production Workshop, students learn the different roles that make up a professional film crew and then work together to take a film from conception through development. Using techniques and equipment employed by real industry professionals, students spend five days transforming an idea into an original, high-definition short film.
Aspiring filmmakers aren't the only ones earning credits on professional-quality productions at TFA. Through TFA's summer workshops, high school students are also getting hands-on experience in audio production, graphic design, game design, and animation.
In TFA's Studio Recording Workshop, students learn how to record and mix live music in a professional music control room. Students in the Animation and Game Design Workshops learn the industry-standard software that brings real-world characters game ideas to life. Students in the Graphic Design Workshop create magazines, movies, posters, and album covers using the same tools and techniques the pros do.
TFA's summer workshops give students a fun way to get their hands on state-of-the-art technology and to witness some of the most innovative work happening in the industry today. More importantly, the camp teaches young adults that the field of digital media involves a tremendous amount of discipline, technique, and problem solving – and inspires them to begin learning early.
