Robert Quarte of AVZ Named Chairperson of the Board and Rich Humann of H2M Named Board Member of Long Island's Premier Business Organization
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HIA-LI, the recognized voice for business on Long Island, today announced that Robert Quarte, Managing Partner of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Company, P.C. (AVZ), has been named HIA-LI Chairperson of the Board and Rich Humann, President and CEO of H2M architects + engineers, has been named a board member beginning in 2016. Quarte had previously held the title of Treasurer for the organization. Both men are recognized for their strong Long Island business leadership and long-time active participation in the HIA-LI.

Robert T. Quarte, CPA, HIA-LI Chairperson of the Board
Robert T. Quarte, CPA is a long-time company employee who joined Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Company, P.C. (AVZ) in 1980. He leads a variety of accounting and auditing engagements with clients in the retail, manufacturing, construction, real estate, and distribution industries as well as Employee Benefit Plan Audits. He provides management advisory services, financial projections, business valuations, accounting systems and controls, estate planning and retirement planning, as well as wealth management consulting.
Outside of the office, Quarte is well-known for his professional affiliations and community involvement. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Suffolk Chapter where he serves as a committee chairman. He has served as a NYSSCPA Suffolk Chapter past President, chaired the Emerging Technologies/Management Committee and Real Estate and Construction Contractor Committee, and was a member of the Accounting Practice Committee. In addition, Quarte serves on the Peer Review Committee for New York State, acts as a team captain of peer reviews for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and served as Treasurer for the HIA-LI Board of Directors.
In the Long Island community, Quarte is an active member with various civic and charitable organizations, including Long Island Cares and Long Island University Post Student Advisory Board.
Quarte holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and publishes articles for financial and local publications. He is an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University, teaching an Advanced Accounting Problems course to graduate students.
He is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.
Richard Humann, HIA-LI Board Member
Richard Humann, is Chairman, CEO and President of H2M architects + engineers, where he works closely with his executive team to drive the overall growth and success of the professional consulting and design firm headquartered in Melville, NY.
Humann successfully led the multi-year development and implementation of the firm's market-based business approach and was charged with implementing the firm's strategic plan and managing the architecture, engineering, and environmental services business lines of the company.
A resident of Nesconset, Humann began his career with H2M as a college intern. In 2012 he was named President/COO of the firm and played a leading role in developing and advancing the refocusing H2M's business model, which launched in 2011. Humann holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NYIT.
