Hey What's Cooking at Dickey's? Real Meat
World's Largest Barbecue Chain Offers Lip Smackin' Real Meat and not "Pink Slime"
DALLAS, March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue has always been on the real meat bandwagon. In fact, for the last 70 years the Largest Barbecue Chain has only ever served 100% fresh meats.
"We track our beef from the field to the table," said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "We believe our customers deserve only the freshest, healthiest meats for their families – nothing hidden."
Over the last few weeks, there has been controversy in the wake of the revelation that other fast food companies are serving up the ground beef additive known as "pink slime." Pink slime is a cheap meat filler made from scraps and low grade trimmings. This alternative meat product only cuts the price of beef by about three cents a pound.
"We want wants to make sure our customers know that we only serve the real thing" said Jeff Forrester, former executive chef and now Director of Purchasing for Dickey's. "We pride ourselves on being the best and only serving the best."
