MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Herzing University students are getting in the spirit of giving by participating in the global #GivingTuesday campaign. The school has created a #GivingTuesday scholarship opportunity designed to encourage acts of kindness – no matter how big or small.
Herzing students, prospective students and alumni can apply for the scholarship online by completing an act of kindness and including it in the application. In total, 10 scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded. Herzing will select one recipient from each of the communities where it has an on-ground campus (Akron, Ohio; Atlanta, Ga.; Birmingham, Ala.; Milwaukee, Madison and Kenosha, Wis.; Minneapolis, Minn.; New Orleans, La.; and Orlando, Fla.) and one recipient from a national pool representing its Online Division.
The entries must be submitted by November 21, 2018, at 12:00 PM (CST). Scholarship awardees will be announced on #GivingTuesday, November 27th. The application and eligibility requirements are available at www.herzing.edu/GivingTuesday.
"We're excited to join the giving movement and give back to our students with a scholarship – and just in time for the holiday season," said Herzing University President Renee Herzing. "Our core values focus on being supportive, caring and engaged, and this scholarship celebrates the commitment our students, faculty, staff and alumni have shown to doing just that each day."
Furthering Herzing University's desire to help local communities, each Herzing campus is conducting a food drive throughout the month of November.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. To learn more about #GivingTuesday, visit: www.givingtuesday.org.
