Hersha Hospitality Management Guests Can Rest Easy With Ethernet and TV Services from Comcast Business Hospitality
Faster Internet Access and More HD Channels Now Available at Dozens of Industry-Leading Hotel Brands Across the Northeast
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Business, a unit of Comcast Cable, the nation's largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to business and residential customers, today announced a partnership with HHM, formerly known as Hersha Hospitality Management, which manages 115 industry-leading hotels across the country. With this agreement, many of the organization's affiliated properties have deployed Comcast Business Hospitality to provide their guests with up to 60 high-definition (HD) television channels and fast, reliable Internet and WiFi access, backed by 24/7 dedicated customer support.
With its corporate headquarters in Philadelphia and field offices in Harrisburg, Pa., HHM is responsible for some of the industry's most well-known hotel brands, including Courtyard by Marriott, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Sheraton, and Holiday Inn, along with 14 distinctly unique independent hotels that extend from Boston and New York City to Philadelphia and the Florida Keys. The hotel management firm is actively expanding its network to include properties in Texas, Florida and California, with future plans for growth expected over the next few months to accommodate the needs of its business and vacation travelers.
"We quickly realized that in today's highly mobile society, our guests want the same experience in their hotels as they already have at home, which means that being able to provide a variety of TV channels alongside high-speed Internet connectivity is absolutely essential to ensure that they keep coming back," said Ketan Patel, hotel technology manager at HHM. "Comcast lets us scale up our services with a simple phone call to a dedicated account rep who understands our business goals and what it takes to achieve them. As we continue to expand our footprint, knowing that we can rely on 24/7 support from a local team that's backed by a national brand gives us the ability to focus our efforts on our guests, where they belong."
With the Comcast Business Hospitality suite, HHM can utilize a combination of Ethernet, Internet and TV services that provide an expansive television lineup alongside more bandwidth for guest rooms and meeting spaces. One of its Philadelphia-based five-star properties, The Rittenhouse, was able to increase its bandwidth from multiple T1 lines to a 100Megabits-per-second (Mbps) Comcast Business Ethernet connection, to provide the hotel's business guests and event organizers with fast and reliable connectivity when they need it. The Rittenhouse, The Graham Georgetown in Washington, D.C., and The Boxer in Boston – all Hersha Hospitality properties – are just a few examples of many affiliated hotels using this service to manage video feeds from a central location instead of within each guest room, which also reduces in-room clutter by eliminating unnecessary equipment.
"Upgrading a hotel's infrastructure with services like Ethernet and HDTV can improve both the customer and employee experiences, manage costs, minimize aggravation, and make it possible to add exciting new amenities to keep guests happy," said Kevin Conmy, vice president of Comcast Business, Freedom Region. "Our advanced network allows us to deliver all of the benefits that make the overall hotel experience a more pleasant one, while also providing the capacity necessary to allow for video monitoring tools."
