With several other U-Haul neighborhood dealers in the area, Hernandez Tire Shop has to work hard to bring in customers. The location helps, but Hernandez said his convenient hours are what keeps his U-Haul customers coming back.

Hernandez Tire Shop is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

"We have such great hours here," Hernandez said. "Customers really like that we're open on the weekends. The other U-Haul dealers close early on Saturday and don't open at all on Sunday, so we get a lot of the weekend traffic."

Between the weekend movers and I-69 walk-ins, Hernandez Tire Shop has been able to build a regular customer base through his growing product line and dedication to quality service.

Partnering with U-Haul Company has already proved beneficial. With his eldest son graduating high school in May and his other son close behind, Hernandez had been looking for ways to pad his family's college fund. Hernandez hopes his two sons choose the University of Houston so the family can stay close together.
