Herley Industries, Inc. Subsidiary, Micro Systems, Inc. Receives $3 Million in U.S. Navy Contracts for Changes
LANCASTER, Pa., Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Herley Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HRLY) today announced that its Micro Systems, Inc. subsidiary in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, has been awarded $3 Million in contracts to accomplish changes to their aerial target ground control stations and airborne avionics for a U.S. Navy customer. The contracts require a change in operating frequency and a major update to their ground control station hardware to transition to the use of lap top computers to replace aging custom designed target and master control consoles. The change in operating frequency is directed at minimizing interference issues that are sometimes encountered with the existing systems.
Wayne Armstrong, Micro Systems' President commented, "We are pleased to see the Navy move forward with these changes. We have been working together for some time now to formulate several improvements and feel that the changes we are making will significantly extend the service life of their systems and improve performance."
