Heritage Foods USA Now Carries Certified Humane® Products
HERNDON, Va., Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Humane Farm Animal Care® (HFAC), the leading non-profit certification organization improving the lives of farm animals in food production, announced today that Heritage Foods USA carries the Holthaus Farm products, which are Certified Humane® .
Heritage Foods USA began in 2003 as part of the Slow Food USA program, under the name "Heritage Turkey Project." Because Slow Food's mission did not include a business enterprise, Heritage Foods USA was formed and expanded its mission beyond turkeys. The company has 9 employees, and counts their son, Max as their company "mascot".
Patrick Martins, President of Heritage Foods USA, explains that Heritage Foods chose to expand the amount of Certified Humane® products which their company offered for sale after hearing about Certified Humane® from the farmers who work for their company, as well as witnessing the growing demand for Certified Humane® products from their customer base. "Our customers realize that heirloom meats are special products and demand the high quality that only a small company like Heritage Foods USA can provide," says Martins. Heritage Foods USA sells approximately 200 pigs per week.
Heritage Foods USA offers the following Certified Humane® products: Holthaus Farm Maple Cured Bone-in Ham, Holthaus Farm Maple Cured Boneless Ham, Holthaus Farm Maple Sugar Smoked Bacon Slab, Holthaus Farm Maple Sugar Smoked Bacon, Holthaus Farm Pork 10 Rib Pack, Holthaus Farm Pork 5 Rib Pack, Holthaus Farm Pork Porterhouse Chops, Holthaus Farm Boston Butt Skin Off, Holthaus Farm Pork Boneless Loin, Holthaus Farm Pork Osso Bucco, Holthaus Farm Pork Belly Skin Off, Holthaus Farm Pork Belly Skin On, Holthaus Farm Pork Boneless Loin Roast, and Holthaus Farm Pork Saint Louis Rib.
