Heraeus' iBOND® Self Etch Receives Highest Rating from THE DENTAL ADVISOR
Ultra-efficient bonding agent receives coveted "5-plus" rating and "Editors' Choice" designation
SOUTH BEND, Ind., April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Heraeus Kulzer, LLC, the worldwide leader in dental esthetics, announced today that its iBOND Self Etch bonding agent received the maximum possible "5-plus" rating from THE DENTAL ADVISOR. The iBOND Self Etch bottle kit was evaluated by 26 consultants in 648 uses and received a very impressive 96% clinical rating.
Consultants reported that iBOND Self Etch was easy to dispense from the plastic bottle and apply to the tooth, and that the clinical procedure was easy to follow with a minimal number of steps. They found that the viscosity of the adhesive allows complete coating of tooth surfaces without running or pooling, with a low film thickness after air drying. Importantly, 81% said they would switch to iBOND Self Etch and 96% would recommend it.
iBOND Self Etch is a light-curing, self-etching, one-component bonding agent (7th generation) for use in combination with adhesive restorations. It is indicated for bonding of direct light-cured composite restorations, indirect restorations (porcelain and composite inlays, onlays, veneer, crowns) in combination with a light-curing luting cement, and for sealing hypersensitive areas of teeth. No refrigeration is required once the bottle is opened for first use.
"The 1st generation iBOND Self Etch was the first self-etch product on the market when it was launched in 2002," said Heraeus Product Manager Amanda Holland. "Consistent with THE DENTAL ADVISOR evaluation, we feel that our 7th generation product is not only the best self-etch product we have ever produced, but very possibly the best self-etch product anyone has ever produced."
Founded in 1984 and inspired by Consumer Reports, the mission of THE DENTAL ADVISOR is to provide the dental profession with evidence-based and clinically relevant information on dental restorative products, infection control products and dental equipment. The products it tests are sent to a randomly selected group of 20 to 30 of its 250 Clinical Consultants. Each Clinical Consultant and his or her staff integrate the product into their daily routine, use the product regularly over a given period of time and then complete a comprehensive survey.
